Upper Peninsula
Lower Peninsula
There you go. I didn't repeat a single fabric, and only bought the background solid. Everything else is from my existing stash. Just in case anyone is wondering, my husband and I grew up in Kent county, which is that long green county (second column, second and third blocks from the bottom, the one with the topography squiggles - bottom and the compasses - top).
If you're from Michigan, can you figure out which one is your county?

Loving your view of Michigan... and how cool to see where you and your hubby grew up on there too! Very cool idea... can't wait to see it all together... and a true charm quilt at that from mainly stash! Very neat! Thanks for blogging it! Kathi
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Washtenaw! I think it's the light green one but I'm not totally sure. It's been too long lol
ReplyDeleteActually, it's the purple one, fourth column, first and second blocks from the bottom. :)
DeleteAhh! I wasn't done! ---- It looks great! I'm so impressed! Can't wait to see how you quilt it. Highways, Main roads and secondary streets? :D
ReplyDeleteMichigan is a more complicated state shape to work with than some. A fun way to create a pattern. And an attractive quilt.
ReplyDeleteI think mine is the dark red one - Genesee County?
ReplyDeleteIt's actually the black one with the flames and Japanese lanterns. :) The red one is Livingston county.
DeleteThis is awesome. My sweetheart is a Michigan boy. I'll have to ask him!
