NaNoWriMo

So, clearly I have had a major period where I haven't blogged. Mainly this is due to getting settled back into our apartment (we still haven't put everything away and restored order to our home, but baby steps). I've also started my new job and it's definitely hectic, but also a ton of fun. I most certainly have much less downtime at work to blog now, and it has definitely taken its toll.

However, I have been planning to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) this year and that starts the first of November. If you're interested in finding out more about this, they do have a website that you can go check out. Basically it involves writing a 50,000-word novel from scratch between November 1st and November 30th. It doesn't have to be good, nor should it be edited, it's just a way to get your ideas on paper. Some people will spend hours writing up outlines and creating whole worlds to play in. Others just write whatever comes to mind on November 1st and they let the story lead them. I'm starting somewhere in the middle. I've been tossing around a story idea for some time now, and I'm excited to start writing. Even if the end result turns out to be utter crap.

So part of NaNoWriMo is having a place to take out your frustrations (usually the NaNoWriMo forums) is things aren't going as planned or to share the news that things are going better than planned. I figured I'd do that on my blog instead. It gives me something concrete to blog about at least for the next month. So stay tuned...
